Children's Village, Entrepreneur Day and political talks are the highlights of Federal Councillor Didier Burkhalter's visit to Trogen and the Principality of Liechtenstein

Bern, 06.05.2016 - On 9 May 2016, Federal Councillor Didier Burkhalter, Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA), will visit the Pestalozzi Children's Village in Trogen in the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden, participate in the 'Entrepreneur Day Liechtenstein, Rheintal, Vorarlberg' in Vaduz, and meet for bilateral talks with Liechtenstein's Deputy Prime Minister Thomas Zwiefelhofer and Foreign Minister Aurelia Frick.

The future will be one of the central themes of Mr Burkhalter's visits to the Pestalozzi Children's Village Foundation in Trogen in the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden and to the Entrepreneur Day in Vaduz. At the Pestalozzi Children's Village, Mr Burkhalter will meet children from Moldova who are participating in an educational project and are taking courses that cover the issues of prejudice, discrimination and children's rights. This Swiss children's charity works in various countries to ensure that children have access to high-quality education and can contribute to a more just and peaceful world.

In the afternoon, Mr Burkhalter will give a speech in Vaduz at the 'Entrepreneur Day Liechtenstein, Rheintal, Vorarlberg', and will then meet members of Liechtenstein's government for bilateral talks. Mr Burkhalter's meetings with Liechtenstein's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Home Affairs, Justice and Economic Affairs, Thomas Zwiefelhofer, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Education and Culture, Aurelia Frick, will focus on bilateral relations, the status of the implementation of the new constitutional article on immigration, and topics of international concern.
