Where does government business take place?
The federal councillors each have their offices in their own departments. They come together for their weekly meeting in the Federal Council meeting room. Special events are held in the Lohn country residence or the Beatrice von Wattenwyl-Haus in Bern.

Federal Council meeting rooms
The Federal Council has four meeting and reception rooms at its disposal on the 1st floor of the west wing of the Federal Palace. The Federal Council holds its weekly meeting in the Federal Council meeting room – also nicknamed the ‘Federal Chalet’.

Residences of the Federal Council
The Von Wattenwyl House, the Bellevue Palace Hotel and the Lohn country residence are three elegant and dignified settings in which the Federal Council can receive guests of state and hold formal events. All three properties were donated to the state.
