Federal Councillor Ueli Maurer to attend meeting of EU and EFTA finance and economics ministers
Bern, 05.11.2018 - On 6 November 2018, Federal Councillor Ueli Maurer will take part in the meeting of EU and EFTA finance and economics ministers in Brussels. Opportunities and challenges in the fintech area will be the focus this year. Federal Councillor Ueli Maurer will be accompanied by State Secretary Jörg Gasser.
Digitisation in the financial sector is gaining in importance worldwide. The meeting will provide an opportunity to exchange views and national experiences in this field.
On the fringes of the meeting, the Swiss delegation will exchange views with representatives of the EU Commission and EU and EFTA member states.
The EU and EFTA economics and finance ministers meet annually in Brussels. Along with Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway are also members of EFTA.
