Federal Councillor Ueli Maurer visits Japan's Deputy Prime Minister, Taro Aso

Bern, 03.04.2018 - Tomorrow, Wednesday, Federal Councillor Ueli Maurer will pay a working visit to Japan's Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, Taro Aso. The two men will discuss bilateral and multilateral financial issues during their meeting in Tokyo.

The two ministers will talk about the global economic outlook and developments in Asia and Europe. Moreover, the Japanese G20 presidency next year will be discussed. Federal Councillor Ueli Maurer will present Switzerland's involvement to date in the G20 Finance Track.

Federal Councillor Ueli Maurer's working visit to Japan is part of his efforts to personally maintain regular relations with important international partners.

Federal Councillor Ueli Maurer will also meet Haruhiko Kuroda, Governor of the Bank of Japan, and Nobuchika Mori, Commissioner of Japan's Financial Services Agency (JFSA). Nobuchika Mori and Thomas Bauer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA), will sign a cooperation agreement to promote cooperation in the area of fintech. Federal Councillor Ueli Maurer will be accompanied by State Secretary Jörg Gasser.
