New consul general of Switzerland in Los Angeles
Bern, 15.12.2017 - Thomas Schneider has been appointed consul general of Switzerland in Los Angeles. He will take up his post in January 2018.
Thomas SCHNEIDER was born in Bern on 4 June 1967. His place of origin is Signau (canton of Bern).
Mr Schneider joined the FDFA in 1989 and was successively posted to Barcelona, Frankfurt am Main, Manila, Paris and Bern. From 2008 to 2012 he was posted to Shanghai as deputy consul general and was subsequently head of the Culture and Education Department in New York until 2016. Since April 2016 he has been deputy head of Finance FDFA and head of Financial Planning and Reporting within the Directorate for Resources in Bern.
