Neuchâtel, 30.01.2024 - In 2023, 20.7% of all newly registered passenger cars were fully electric. This was 3.0 percentage points more than in the previous year (17.7%). In 2020, 2021 and 2022, however, electric cars increased their shares by between 4 and 5 percentage points. Overall, the number of new motor vehicle registrations in 2023 remained well below the pre-pandemic level. This fact notwithstanding, the total motor vehicle stock did increase in 2023, rising by 1.2% to over 6.4 million.
