The FDFA condemns the series of recent attacks in Turkey
Bern, 18.08.2016 - The Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) condemns the series of attacks committed in the last few days against the security and law enforcement forces in Turkey.
Switzerland is concerned about the tensions that are currently afflicting Turkey. In a context of growing insecurity, it calls on Turkey's authorities and political actors to take all necessary measures to prevent an escalation of tensions and to firmly oppose all incitements to violence. Dialogue and political processes are the only ways to achieve lasting solutions to these tensions in the interest of Turkey and all its citizens.
Federal Councillor Didier Burkhalter, head of the FDFA, extends his condolences to the victims' families and expresses his solidarity with the large number of people who suffered injuries in these attacks.
