New Swiss consul-general in Munich

Bern, 19.05.2016 - Markus Thür has been named the new Swiss consul-general in Munich and will assume his new office as of mid-June 2016.

Mr Thür was born on 21 July 1966 in Scherzingen, Thurgau. His place of origin is Altstätten, St Gallen.

He joined the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs in 1992 and carried out successive missions in São Paulo, Lyon, San José, Houston, Dakar and Bern. Mr Thür has been head of the Citizen Services and Support for Representations section at the FDFA's Consular Directorate in Bern since 2011.

He is married with two children.
