Official visit to Bern by His Majesty Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain
Bern, 10.05.2016 - His Majesty Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain, will be received by the President of the Swiss Confederation, Johann N. Schneider-Ammann, during an official working visit on 12 May 2016. The FDFA’s State Secretary Yves Rossier will discuss beforehand various bilateral matters with a Bahraini delegation.
President Johann N. Schneider-Ammann will receive King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa at the Lohn Residence in Bern. During technical discussions, the Swiss and Bahraini delegations will focus on bilateral relations between their two countries, the situation in the Gulf region and multilateral issues.
Switzerland is working to promote peace and stability in the Middle East, and the Federal Council has thus increased the frequency of diplomatic visits. The meeting between the King of Bahrain and the President of the Swiss Confederation will also provide an opportunity to discuss Swiss contributions to peace and stability in the region.
