Swiss Social Assistance Statistics 2014: National results – Social assistance rate remains unchanged, duration of benefits increases
Neuchâtel, 21.12.2015 - (FSO) - 261,983 people received social assistance in 2014. Therefore, 3.2% of the resident population was supported by social benefits at least once during the year. The social assistance rate remained unchanged compared with the previous year. The proportion of long-term social assistance recipients (more than four years) was 27.5%. These are some of the findings from the current Swiss Social Assistance Statistics conducted by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
