Health insurance premium index 2015 – Premium increases for 2014-2015 curb growth in disposable income by 0.2 percentage points

Neuchâtel, 19.11.2015 - (FSO) - The health insurance premium index (KVPI) registered an increase of 2.5% for premiums in 2015 compared with the previous year. The KVPI reached an index level of 173.3 points (basis of 1999 = 100). By means of the KVPI, the effects of the evolution of premiums on the growth of disposable income can be calculated. According to the Federal Statistical Office's KVPI model calculation, rising premiums curbed the growth of the average disposable income by 0.2 percentage points in 2015.
