Household budget survey 2010 – A tenth of the budget goes to mobility

Neuchâtel, 13.11.2012 - (FSO) - The average disposable income of households in Switzerland was CHF 6825 per month in 2010. The CHF 1500 expended on housing and energy was the largest component of the household budget. Households spent CHF 910 per month or just under 10% of the household budget on mobility. The amount households saved per month was, on average, CHF 1170 after deduction of all expenditures. These are findings from the Household Budget Survey 2010 from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
