Retail trade turnover in June 2011 – Real turnover growth of 7.1%

Neuchâtel, 02.08.2011 - According to provisional results from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO), real, seasonally adjusted turnover in the retail sector rose by 7.1% in June 2011 compared with May 2011 (in nominal terms +6.9%). Real, not seasonally adjusted turnover in the retail sector rose by 7.4% in June 2011 compared with June 2010 (in nominal terms +5.7%). Because in 2011, Pentecost and Ascension Day fell in June, this month had two fewer sales days than the previous year. Without sales days and seasonal adjustment, a nominal decline in turnover of 2.4% was registered.
