On 15 May 2024, the Federal Council decided how to proceed following the death of Federal Council Spokesman and Vice Chancellor André Simonazzi. The position will be advertised publicly in the near future. Ursula Eggenberger, head of the Federal Chancellery’s communications section, will serve on an interim basis until the successor takes up the post.
