Medico-social care in institutions and at home in 2012 – Expansion of care at home greater than in nursing homes

Neuchâtel, 19.11.2013 - 19.11.2013 (FSO) - The main service providers for people requiring medico-social assistance, the assistance and home care services as well as nursing homes, are experiencing strong growth. These two providers employed 154,907 persons in 2012, representing 101,791 full-time posts (FTE). Between 2010 and 2012, the number of FTE posts in the assistance and home care services sector grew by 11%. These are some of the findings from the Statistics on Home Care Services and the provisional findings from the Statistics on Medico-Social Institutions from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
