13.3% of employed people never use digital devices in their jobs

Neuchâtel, 08.02.2024 - In 2022, only a minority of employed persons never used a computer, tablet or smartphone for work. While 13.0% of employed people never performed intellectual tasks, 31.4% never carried out manual tasks in their jobs. A very small proportion of employed persons consider their tasks to be highly routine or feel they have little autonomy, which are both risk factors for becoming automated. These are some of the findings of the publication "Tasks, digital devices and risk of automation in employment in 2022", published by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
