Switzerland sees weaker growth in goods transport than in GDP in 2022

Neuchâtel, 27.11.2023 - In 2022, the transport performance of goods transport increased only slightly compared with the previous year (+0.2%), while real gross domestic product (GDP) rose by 2.6%. This continued a trend that has been observed for some time: Goods transport in Switzerland has been growing at a slower rate than the economy since 2012. These are some of the findings from the goods transport statistics produced by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
