Solid trend in employment and slightly fewer vacancies in 3rd quarter 2023

Neuchâtel, 24.11.2023 - In the 3rd quarter 2023, the total employment (number of jobs) in Switzerland rose by 1.9% in comparison with the same quarter a year earlier (seasonally adjusted +0.1% compared with previous quarter). Calculated in full-time equivalents, this was an increase in jobs of 1.7%. Companies reported a total of 10 000 (–8.1%) fewer vacancies than a year earlier and the employment outlook indicator was still positive despite a cautious assessment. These are some of the latest findings from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
