Swiss Health Survey 2022 - Changes in mental stress

Neuchâtel, 03.11.2023 - In 2022, 85% of the Swiss population aged 15 or over felt that they were in good health and 83% were happy. At the same time, more than a third were living with a long-term health problem. Mental stress increased compared with 2017. The 15-24 age group was particularly affected, especially young women. The proportion of smokers fell from 27% (2017) to 24%. Alternative products such as e-cigarettes are particularly popular among young people. With regard to alcohol, drinking habits have changed. These important findings come from the 2022 Swiss Health Survey from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
