Gross domestic product by canton - Overall economic recovery in 2021
Neuchâtel, 27.10.2023 - 2021 saw post-COVID-19 recovery in Switzerland and in the cantons. Measured by gross domestic product (GDP) at previous year's prices, the economy improved in all cantons. Five cantons saw their economies grow by 10% or more: Neuchâtel (15.2%), Jura (14.7%), Ticino (13.2%), Schaffhausen (12.9%) and Vaud (10.0%). Growth was spread across the country and around ten cantons had growth ranging from 5% to 10%. These figures are taken from the latest estimates of the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
