Another record number of candidatures – the FSO's comprehensive coverage of the 2023 federal elections
Neuchâtel, 25.09.2023 - The number of lists and candidatures has again reached record levels in 2023: 5909 candidates (41% of whom are women) on 618 lists in the cantons with proportional representation are contesting a seat on the National Council. Those under the age of 30 account for almost 30% of candidates. Many of them are standing on age-specific lists, which make up almost half of the parties' partial lists. These are some of the key figures from the updated statistics on lists and candidatures from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
