Cyber-Defence Campus launches Cyber Startup Challenge 2023

Bern, 08.06.2023 - The Cyber-Defence Campus of the DDPS is organising another Cyber Startup Challenge. This year's theme is «Smartphone Security» and the aim is to find innovative solutions for the security of smartphone applications to mitigate their potential threats. The winner will receive a contract for a proof of concept and can demonstrate their solution in a real DDPS environment. The closing date for entries is 31 August 2023.

The Cyber-Defence (CYD) Campus of armasuisse Science and Technology monitors and anticipates cyber developments. In doing so, it reacts to the increasing cyber risks and this year is again looking for forward-looking technologies within the framework of its Cyber Startup Challenge. This year's motto «Smartphone Security» focuses on ideas for improving the security of third-party smartphone applications.

Innovative solutions for smartphone security

The Cyber Startup Challenge 2023 is intended to examine the startup landscape around the topic of «smartphone security». Start-ups with innovative technology solutions to support smartphone security are being sought. The goal is for the technology to help efficiently and comprehensively analyse the security of third-party smartphone applications and their potential threats. Ideally, this can test applications that run in an unmodified operating system while providing dynamic testing capabilities.

Call Cyber Startup Challenge 2023

Startups can submit their proposed solutions for the Cyber Startup Challenge 2023 until 31 August 2023. The three start-ups with the most innovative technology solutions will present their proposals at the Cyber-Defence Campus Conference on 26 October 2023 in Bern. A jury consisting of DDPS experts will select the best solution during the conference. The start-up that wins the challenge will receive a contract for the integration of a so-called proof of concept, where the company can demonstrate its technology solution in the DDPS environment.
