1 in 10 employees in non-standard employment in 2020

Neuchâtel, 10.11.2022 - In 2020, 10% of employees were in a non-standard form of employment. Work on call was the most common (5.1% of employees), followed by fixed-term contracts of less than one year (3.1%) and low work-time percentages (2.3%). 1.2% of employees were employed via (and paid by) temporary recruitment services. 15 to 24 year-olds were disproportionately represented in non-standard forms of employment. These are some of the findings from the “Non-standard forms of employment 2010–2020” publication (available in German and French only) from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
