Future coverage areas for local radio stations and regional television channels defined
Bern, 16.09.2022 - The current coverage areas for local radio stations in mountain and peripheral regions and for regional television channels will remain largely unchanged until 2034. The Federal Council took this decision at its meeting on 16 September. In central Switzerland and in the Lugano urban area, it also provided for two new broadcasters with a share from the radio and television fee. In the Arc Jurassien region and the Bernese Jura, the coverage areas for local radio stations are being adapted. Furthermore, the Federal Council is providing for deregulation for the current commercial radio stations with a performance mandate, which do not receive funding from the fee.
