In Switzerland, almost 1.7 million people were aged 65 or older at the end of 2021
Neuchâtel, 25.08.2022 - Switzerland's permanent resident population was 8 738 800 at the end of 2021, i.e. 0.8% more than in 2020. In this population, one woman in five and one man in six was aged over 64. The country had 162 more centenarians than in the previous year. These are the final results of the population and households statistics from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
