Cyber Defence Campus launches 2022 Cyber Startup Challenge

Bern, 28.06.2022 - The Cyber-Defence Campus of the DDPS is again holding a Cyber Startup Challenge this year. With the theme “Network detection and security of Internet of Things devices”, innovative solutions are being sought in the area of automatic network search and security check. The winner will receive an order for a proof of concept and demonstrate their solution in a real DDPS environment. The registration deadline is 31 August 2022.

The Cyber-Defence (CYD) Campus of armasuisse Science and Technology observes and anticipates cyber developments. Here, it is responding to the growing cyber risks and is once again seeking innovative technologies as part of its cyber startup challenge this year. This year’s theme, “Network detection and security of Internet of Things (IoT; Internet of Things) devices”, focuses on ideas for the automatic network search and security check of IoT devices.

Innovative solutions for network search and security check

The 2022 Cyber Startup Challenge explores the startup landscape around the topic of “Network detection and security of IoT devices”. The CYD Campus is looking for startup companies with innovative technology solutions in the area of automatic network search to find all connected devices and assess and improve the security of IoT devices such as routers or firewalls. Finally, selected concrete solutions will be proposed for implementation in the DDPS.

Call for 2022 Cyber Startup Challenge

Startups can submit their proposals for solutions for the 2022 Cyber Startup Challenge until 31 August 2022. The three startups with the most innovative technological solutions will present their proposals at the Cyber-Defence Conference on 26 October 2022 in Bern. A jury consisting of experts from the DDPS will select the best solution during the conference. The startup that wins the challenge will receive an order for integrating what is known as a proof of concept, in which the company can demonstrate its technological solution in the DDPS environment.
