European tax administrations meet in Switzerland

Bern, 28.06.2022 - On 29 and 30 June 2022, the commissioners of European tax administrations are meeting in Zurich. Under Swiss presidency, they want to improve the relationship between taxpayers and tax administrations.

At the 26th General Assembly of the Intra-European Organisation of Tax Administrations (IOTA), the commissioners of European tax administrations, together with representatives of other international organisations, academia and the business community, are discussing how they can redefine the relationship between taxpayers and tax administrations and positively stimulate tax behaviour. IOTA comprises the tax administrations of 44 European countries. Switzerland held the presidency for 2020/21, represented by Marc Bugnon, Deputy Director of the Federal Tax Administration (FTA). The Swiss presidency ends with the General Assembly as per routine. The FTA has been a member of IOTA since 2006 and has had a seat on the Executive Council since summer 2019. IOTA has its headquarters in Budapest and was founded in October 1996. It provides European tax administrations with a discussion forum for tax issues.
