Record employment in Switzerland in 4th quarter 2021
Neuchâtel, 24.02.2022 - In the 4th quarter 2021, total employment (number of jobs) in Switzerland rose by 1.9% in comparison with the same quarter a year earlier, achieving a new record of 5.239 million. Seasonally adjusted, this was 0.5% higher than the previous quarter. In full-time equivalents, employment in the same period rose by 1.6%. The industry and service sectors counted 32 900 more vacancies than in the corresponding quarter of the previous year (+50.2%) and the employment outlook indicator is also indicating an upward trend (+5.0%). These are some of the latest findings from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
