More than one in two students say they have difficulties with their studies and one in ten are thinking of dropping out

Neuchâtel, 22.11.2021 - Altogether, 57% of students are encountering difficulties in their studies. The most common difficulties reported by students are related to study content (33%) or a lack of motivation (24%). Difficulties vary in particular depending on their age and social background. Many other findings on social integration or the intention of dropping out are available in the main report of the 2020 survey on social and economic conditions of student life conducted by the FSO. These findings represent the situation as it was prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.
