Employment in Switzerland recovered in 2nd quarter 2021

Neuchâtel, 26.08.2021 - In the 2nd quarter 2021, total employment (number of jobs) rose by 0.6% in comparison with the same quarter a year earlier (+0.2% with previous quarter). In full-time equivalents, employment in the same period rose by 0.3%. This increase was mainly due to growth in the tertiary sector. The Swiss economy counted 24 300 more vacancies than in the corresponding quarter of the previous year (+39.7%). The employment outlook indicator is also indicating an upward trend (+4%). These are some of the latest findings from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
