12.4% increase in deaths in Switzerland in 2020
Neuchâtel, 22.06.2021 - In total, there were almost 76 200 deaths in Switzerland in 2020, a record value. At the same time, the number of marriages, registered partnerships and divorces decreased compared with the previous year. There was also a very slight decrease in the number of births. The final figures from the Vital Statistics of the Federal Statistical Office (FSO) confirm the trends seen in April during the publication of the provisional results.
