Number of cultural workers fell by around 5% in 2020

Neuchâtel, 31.05.2021 - During the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, the number of cultural workers fell by 4.7% compared with the previous year. The decline affected women and part-time cultural workers in particular. In rural communes, the decrease was almost three times that seen in towns and cities. These are some of the new findings from the statistics on the cultural economy from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO). These have been updated with the latest figures from the Swiss Labour Force Survey (SLFS) and the Survey on Income and Living Conditions (SILC).
