4.8% of children in compulsory schooling receive reinforced learning support for special educational needs

Neuchâtel, 30.11.2020 - 2.4% of pupils in mainstream classes in compulsory education received reinforced learning support for special educational needs. 1.4% were in a special class and 1.8% in a special school class. Boys were twice as likely as girls to receive specialised teaching support. 90% of special schools are in urban communes or intermediate communes. These are some of the results of the special education statistics 2018/2019 compiled by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
