3rd quarter 2020: the number of employed persons fell by 0.4%, the unemployment rate based on the ILO definition was 5.3%

Neuchâtel, 12.11.2020 - Between the 3rd quarter 2019 and the 3rd quarter 2020, the number of employed persons in Switzerland fell by 0.4% (–21 000). The actual weekly hours worked per employed person also decreased by 2.7%. During the same period, the unemployment rate as defined by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) increased from 4.6% to 5.3% in Switzerland and 6.5% to 7.4% in the EU. These are some of the results of the Swiss Labour Force Survey (SLFS).
