More information in SRG SSR TV programmes – but still little about other language regions
Biel/Bienne, 25.08.2020 - The Swiss Broadcasting Corporation SRG SSR recorded a small increase in the volume of information it provided through its television programming in 2019. In the French-speaking part of Switzerland, women appear more regularly as interview partners in news and current affairs programmes than in the other regions. However, the various language regions remain reluctant to report about each other – in particular, the French-speaking part rarely reports on the Italian-speaking part and vice-versa. These are the conclusions of a study commissioned by the Federal Office of Communications (OFCOM), which covered the output of all SRG SSR channels in 2019.
