The Federal Council elects the Innosuisse Board

Bern, 05.06.2020 - On 5 june 2020, the Federal Council re-elected André Kudelski as the president of the Innosuisse Board and all current Board members for the term from 2021 to 2024. The Board comprises seven representatives from industry and academia.

Innosuisse is pursuing its mandate to promote science-based innovation in the interests of industry and society in Switzerland. The Board plays a crucial role in the success of Innosuisse. The Federal Council has confirmed the terms of office for the president and the members of the Board:

President:

·         André Kudelski, CEO, Nagravision SA ; Chairman and CEO, Kudelski Corporate, Inc. (USA) ; Chairman of the Board and CEO, Kudelski SA, Cheseaux-sur-Lausanne;

Board members:

·         Edouard Bugnion, Professor and Vice President, Information Systems, EPFL, Lausanne;

·         Thierry Calame, Dr. iur., Attorney at Law, partner and co-head of Intellectual Property at Lenz & ‎Staehelin, Zurich;

·         Trudi Haemmerli, Managing Director, TruStep Consulting GmbH, Basel;

·         Marco Illy, President, The Medical Supply Company of Switzerland (MSCS) Ltd., Verbier;

·         Nicola Thibaudeau, CEO, MPS Micro Precision System, Biel;

·         Luciana Vaccaro, Dr. Ing. EPFL, Rector of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Western Switzerland (HES-SO), Delémont.

The composition of the Innosuisse Board ensures a close link between academia and industry. In addition, Board members are familiar with the mechanisms and challenges surrounding innovation promotion as well as with the political frameworks. The Board also has proven skills in strategic management, business administration, and law and compliance. As it therefore fulfils the requirements profile, the Federal Council re-elected the Board.

Innosuisse is an institution governed by public law. It began operations on 1 January 2018 as the Swiss Confederation’s promotion agency for science-based innovation. The Innosuisse Act (SIPAA) defines its responsibilities and its organisation.
