Internet-mediated platform work is not very common in Switzerland

Neuchâtel, 19.05.2020 - In 2019, 0.4% of the population said that they had carried out work via internet-mediated platforms in the past 12 months. This is where the person performing a service is connected with a client through an internet platform and payment is (usually) also made via the platform. Broken down by type of ac-tivity, 0.1% of the population had provided taxi services and 0.3% had carried out other services (pro-gramming, food delivery services, cleaning, etc.). At 0.6%, a slightly larger percentage of the popula-tion had rented out accommodation through an internet platform. 0.8% of the population had sold goods via an internet platform that were especially collected, sold or produced with the aim of resell-ing them.
