New coronavirus: the ‘Protect yourself and others’ campaign moves to pink phase

Berne, 30.04.2020 - The Federal Office of Public Health is adapting its public awareness campaign to protect against the new coronavirus and is switching the base colour to pink. While various activities are now permitted with the first phase of measures to protect the public being eased, the same rules still apply: Keep your distance, wash your hands thoroughly, and sneeze into the crook of your arm.

The federal government is changing the base colour of its public awareness campaign ‘Protect yourself and others': the new colour is pink. This means that all hygiene and social distancing rules still apply. ‘Keep your distance' continues to be the most important message, and hygiene measures are essential.

The remaining instructions will continue to play an important role over the coming weeks and months: ‘Wash your hands thoroughly', ‘Avoid shaking hands', ‘Cough and sneeze into the crook of your arm', ‘Stay at home if you experience symptoms' and ‘Always call ahead before going to the doctor's or the emergency department'. If it is not possible to keep your distance in certain situations, the FOPH recommends that you wear a face mask. The explanatory video on how to wear a face mask shows you how to put on and dispose of masks correctly.

Despite the fact that the Federal Council has now begun to gradually ease measures, you should still work from home if you are able to do so, as you are thereby reducing your interaction with others.

The official FOPH campaign material is downloaded and displayed by many organisations and businesses. The new version in pink can be downloaded here: www.foph-coronavirus.ch.
