Continued decline in burglaries in Switzerland in 2019

Neuchâtel, 23.03.2020 - In 2019, the police recorded around 36 400 burglaries, representing a decrease of 6.3% compared with the previous year. Since 2012 – a record year with 73 700 burglaries registered by the police – the number of offences has fallen by over 37 000, i.e. to less than half. However, during the same period, fraud offences more than doubled at 17 606, according to the results from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
