Almost one in five people live in a household with arrears
Neuchâtel, 18.02.2020 - In 2017, arrears were the most common type of debt in Switzerland. 18.9% of the population lived in a household with at least one arrear in the past 12 months. The most common outstanding payments were tax and health insurance bills. 8% lived in a household with at least three different types of debt. These are the findings from the Survey on Income and Living Conditions (SILC) conducted by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
