Tourist accommodation in the 2019 summer season - Increase in overnight stays in hotel accommodation during the 2019 summer season
Neuchâtel, 05.12.2019 - The hotel sector registered 22.6 million overnight stays in Switzerland during the 2019 summer tourist season (from May to October). This represents an increase of 2.4% (+536 000 overnight stays) compared with the same period a year earlier. With a total of 12.9 million overnight stays, foreign demand rose by 2.1% (+268 000). Domestic visitors registered a 2.8% increase (+269 000) with 9.8 million units. These are the provisional results from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
