Escalation of violence between Israel and Gaza – statement by the FDFA
Bern, 12.11.2019 - The FDFA is closely monitoring the situation in the Middle East and calls on all parties to restore calm immediately.
The FDFA is greatly concerned by the recent developments in the Middle East. It calls on all parties to respect international law, in particular international humanitarian law, to ensure protection for civilians and civil infrastructure in both Gaza and Israel, and to take the necessary steps for an immediate return to calm.
The FDFA has communicated its call for peace directly to the parties and is continuing to monitor the situation closely.
