Employment grew in all economic sectors in 2017

Neuchâtel, 22.08.2019 - In 2017, there were almost 5.2 million jobs in Switzerland, an increase of 1.2% compared with the previous year. While the tertiary sector contributed considerably to this result, the primary and secondary sectors also saw an increase in jobs, following several years of decline. It was mainly large companies that observed the greatest increase in staff numbers. At geographic level, the Lake Geneva region showed the greatest dynamism. These are the latest results of the Federal Statistical Office’s (FSO) structural business statistics (STATENT).
