Vital statistics 2018 - 2018 a year of rising divorce rates
Neuchâtel, 27.06.2019 - The number of divorces in 2018 rose by 4% compared with 2017. Should people’s behaviour with regard to divorce remain unchanged, an estimated two out of five marriages will end in divorce. More marriages, births and deaths were also recorded in Switzerland. Only registered partnerships showed a decline. These are the final results of the Vital Statistics from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
