New decline in vehicle registrations in 2018
Neuchâtel, 31.01.2019 - New registrations of road motor vehicles fell by 4.2% or 17 400 units compared with 2017 and reached a total of 395 400 in 2018. This decline affected passenger cars in particular (–4.5%). The total stock (without trailers) amounted to 6.1 million units, representing an increase of 60 500 or 1.0% compared with 2017. This increase was less sharp than that seen between 2016 and 2017 (+1.2%). These are some of the figures from the road vehicle statistics published by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
