Wage inequality: women earned 19.6% less than men in 2016

Neuchâtel, 31.01.2019 - Two out of three full-time jobs paying a gross monthly wage of less than CHF 4000 were held by women in 2016. Wage inequality between women and men has gradually fallen from 21.3% in 2012 to 19.5% in 2014. In 2016, the difference was 19.6%. 42.9% of the pay gap remains unexplained, according to the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
