In Switzerland, enterprise groups account for around a third of employment and almost nine tenths of international trade in goods

Neuchâtel, 17.12.2018 - (FSO) - At the end of 2017, 46 614 enterprises in Switzerland were part of an enterprise group. They accounted for just over one third of total employment. From 2014 to 2017, major shifts took place between the countries of ultimate control of foreign multinationals. Enterprise groups are of paramount importance to cross-border goods trade in which they handle almost nine tenths of the trade volume. These are some of the findings of the new enterprise groups statistics, produced by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
