Working visit of Federal Councillor Ueli Maurer to Romanian Finance Minister Eugen Teodorovici
Bern, 20.11.2018 - On 20 November 2018, Federal Councillor Ueli Maurer will pay a working visit to his Romanian counterpart Eugen Teodorovici in Bucharest. During the meeting, bilateral finance and tax issues between Switzerland and the EU will be addressed. Furthermore, Federal Councillor Maurer will meet President Klaus Werner Iohannis for a courtesy visit.
The visit is taking place in view of Romania's presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first half of 2019. Meetings of this nature take place regularly to discuss the priorities and positions of the country holding the chair. They likewise address bilateral economic and financial relations.
The meeting between Federal Councillor Ueli Maurer and Finance Minister Eugen Teodorovici will focus in particular on bilateral issues with the EU in the financial market area, such as stock market equivalence, tax issues like the Federal Act on Tax Reform and AHV Financing (TRAF), and the taxation of the digital economy.
