China-Swiss Energy Working Group meets in China

Bern, 13.11.2018 - The second China-Swiss Energy Working Group Meeting will take place in China from 18 to 23 November 2018. Benoît Revaz, Director of the Swiss Federal Office of Energy, will lead the Swiss delegation. The Federal Council has granted him the title of State Secretary for the duration of the meeting. Delegates on both sides include representatives from business, science and administration.

The China-Swiss Energy Working Group is the result of a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in the fields of renewable energies, energy efficiency and energy research. It has been signed during the state visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Switzerland in January 2017 (see blog post of January 20, 2017).

After the first meeting of the Working Group was held in October 2017 in Switzerland (see blog post of October 14, 2017), this year's meeting will take place in Beijing, Hangzhou and Yichang. Main topics will be hydropower, photovoltaics and storage technologies.
