The agricultural year 2018 sustained by wine, fruit and milk according to first estimates

Neuchâtel, 02.10.2018 - (FSO) – In 2018, Swiss agriculture is expected to generate a gross value added of CHF 4.1 billion, an increase of 2.1% compared with the previous year. The major crops and animal feed suffered from the drought and production costs increased. The wine and fruit harvests, however, were much better than in 2017 and beef and milk production grew too. These initial estimates for the current year are based on the economic accounts for agriculture compiled by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
